How to avoid Internet Marketing Scams
If you are new to the online business world or are looking for ways to make money online this post is for you.
Most new folks just starting out are called newbies, newbs, or sometimes noobs and different variations of those words.
The Internet marketing guru’s regardless of their intentions are looking for you and they want your hard earned money.
Many want to turn you over and shake as much money from your pockets as they possibly can.
Yes…there are millions of online scams and they are everywhere. In forums, legitimate blogs, even in social networking sites.
The owners of these sites have a huge budget to create countless websites, blogs and they can advertise just about anywhere they please as long as they have the big bucks to do so.
So how is a newbie marketer do to stay away from these shisters? I’ve been online since 2002 and seen more than my fair share of online marketing bull. But, lately I’ve been able to spot these scams from the get go. So here is my guide to Internet Marketing for the beginner list.
If it sounds to good to be true…it is probably a scam or close to it. Remember there is no such thing as a “Get Rich Quick” marketing model.
Read the fine print. Often times many beginner folks will not read the fine print…usually it is right there at the bottom of the sales page written in legalese terms.
No-work needed or a lazy mans way to riches. Oh man, this one get most newbies all the time. Believe me you will have to work at earning money online. And being lazy will only get you fat and broke.
Does the company have a support site and how long have they been in business. Always check the company’s reputation by Googling the company name you’d be surprised what you will find. If it’s a new affiliate marketing launch do tons of research first. One of the best places to find good reviews is at the warrior forum site.
When searching reviews of new affiliate products beware as many of these review sites are biased and will give you mostly a good review about a product but will give you the affiliate URL to make a purchase. Do your best to find an un-biased review.
Research the opportunity whether it be a MLM, affiliate or networking site do your research. Start of by visiting forums that expose some of these ripoff artists. Here is one site that I go to often to see what the latest scam is. http://www.scam.com/ it is a forum with thousands of subscribers asking questions on the latest scammers. Joining is free and I am in no way affiliated with them.
Another good scam exposer is http://www.scamxposer.com/ they have no hidden agenda. If you want to research an online business opportunity or affiliate program check them out first.
Contact any website marketing scam and see if they contact you back. If so good but look for a phone number and also give them a call. Ask questions, ask for a supervisor or manager as the person answering the phone is usually a clerk or office helper. Do not be shy about this…it’s your money don’t let them take it without a legitimate reason.
Beware when researching website scams online because these scammer are sometimes disguised as websites who want to help you find legitimate opportunities. But, in reality they are rip-offs themselves.
There are legitimate online business opportunities but these are in the minority.
